Back In The High Life Again

Posted on May 28th, 2004 in Poker, Tha Weekend by whazzmaster

One (1) Whazzmaster.com List coming up.

1. I’m back playing poker again. I was watching World Poker Tour the other night and said “fuck it” and deposited a little bit of money. My current strategy is No Ring Games, Only NL Tournament. So far I’m 3 for 3, taking 2nd in a $5 ($10 profit), 3rd in a $20 ($20 profit), and 1st in a $10 ($50 profit). So in a few days I’m up $80, which for me is very good. This weekend while Erin’s in Vegas (see below), I think I’ll play in one of the Midnight Oil multi-tables. Wirkuswhazz, contact me if you wanna get in on that too.

2. This weekend my lovely wife will be in Vegas to watch Madonna shimmy and shake onstage. She will also be drinking and gambling. Ah Erin, have fun with that. And tell the ladies at Cheetah’s that I say “hi, here’s a twenty”.

3. We’re into hour nine of the Real Century Club, and when I awoke this morning I found 10-odd empty cans of beer on our coffee table. I guess GMX got started promptly at midnight last night. For those that don’t know, the Real Century Club, is consuming 100 cans of beer in one weekend. So from 12:01am Friday morning until 11:59pm on Sunday each contestant must drink 100 cans of beer. I decided not to participate, mainly because I value my health and life. I will, however, be blogging the event from ground zero (Thugg Mansion).

4. Found a trailer for an awesome new movie coming out. Check out the preview for Napolean Dynamite. Looks funny as fuck. While we’re at it, the trailer for the new Will Ferrell movie is out. Check it out here. That one looks good too.

Holler back, youngin.

Update On Site ‘n’ Shit

Posted on May 25th, 2004 in Site News by whazzmaster

Took me awhile to go through my email this morning. Thanks for helping out, Thunderbird Mail Filters.

For the most part I’m liking what I’m seeing in the current poll comments. A looong time ago, Zach Henkel made a suggestion to create some kind of calendaring function where you could post stuff (events, birthdays, etc.) It seems like, from what Scott says, that may be useful now for us to plan shit like the Vegas trip, trips back to Wisco, ballgames, WWF shit, PPV’s, and a whole lots of other stuff.

I’m sick of designing stuff that sucks. I’ll see if I can pull Scientist away from poker for a few minutes to design a schema to base the calendar off of (I know he already has a similar thing set up in the Family Tree application).

Paul’s Wedding post is 2/3 done right now. I’ll finish it tonight or tomorrow night and get it posted. Overall not one of my funnier masterpieces, but enough stuff happened where I could justify simplifying the whole weekend down to 3 written sheets of paper. Of course I’ll post when it’s uploaded. It should include some snapshots from the weekend. I won’t be duplicating any of the pics from the moblog. My mom had her digital camera at the reception so all the ones I’ll post in the story will be from Saturday night.

I fixed the loading problem with the moblog preview on the left. If the site doesn’t respond then there shouldn’t be any waiting for this page to load. Of course let me know via the comments if it still fucks up.

holler back

Paul’s Wedding

Posted on May 23rd, 2004 in Tha Weekend by whazzmaster

It was a great and fun event, and I’m trying to get a multi-page narrative of it up for consumption. I’ll be working on it on the plane and hopefully it’ll be done soon. In the meantime, check out the moblog for some selected pre-ceremony shots.

I heard Madd pissed his pants this weekend. haha

Paul & Amy’s Wedding: Chapter Four

Posted on May 22nd, 2004 in Best Of by whazzmaster

There were a bunch of random pictures left over which I didn’t get a chance to post elsewhere.
I figured I’d throw them up on this page for anyone that was interested. Have fun!

Paul & Amy’s Wedding: Chapter Three

Saturday morning Scubby and I awoke and rocketed back to the Country
Inn to get ready for the wedding. On the way we stopped for low-carb Hardee’s
(or, in the California parlance, Carl’s Jr.) Burgers.

Oh Yeah, I’m Also Wearing A Scubby Shirt, Which Is Why It Looks So Big On Me

We got to the hotel and got ready instantly. We had time to spare before
pictures started so we headed down to the bar. After getting everyone
settled in with a drink, the maid of honor and bridesmaid walked in. The
maid of honor asked Scubby to do some stuff for her which clued us in
to how the night ended for the ladies of the wedding party, and we all
had quite a laugh. While waiting for the guys to get ready Scubby announced
the front desk staff.

"Coming in at a combined weight of over 1500 pounds, from parts
unknown, The FRONT DESSSSSSSSSSSSK STAAAAAAAFFF!"

Paul & Amy’s Wedding: Chapter Two

Posted on May 21st, 2004 in Best Of by whazzmaster

Friday began like any other day: my old bones feeling like they were
being beaten with a hammer. I’ve realized that my body doesn’t take to
drinking like it used to. Against Jessie’s wishes, I was consuming E-MER-Gen-C
like there was no tomorrow. Scubby had awoken me at 9-something a.m. to
see if I wanted him to stop downtown and pick me up for the rehearsal
dinner. Hell yeah I did. Scubby met us at Jalisco’s Mexican Restaurant
(great food) and we headed out to the Country Inn for the rehearsal festivities.

Paul & Amy’s Wedding: Chapter One

Posted on May 20th, 2004 in Best Of by whazzmaster

My awesome weekend in Wisconsin for the Paul Larsen & Amy Kotowski wedding started
on the plane ride out from San Francisco. I was riding Midwest Airlines
into Milwaukee and it was a direct, red-eye flight. The plan was to leave San Francisco at 11:30pm and get into Milwaukee
at 5:30am. The plane had at least 30 rows of 5 seats each, and there were between 30 and 40 people TOTAL on the flight.
I got my own row, which was awesome considering I was planning on getting squashed between two jackasses on the way out there.
As soon as I sit down my fun starts, as a slightly thugged out gentleman across the aisle and one row back said “Hey! You from
Milwaukee?”

“Yeah,” I said, “Racine actually.”

“WOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!” was his response as I remember it.

Beat The Streak Theory #23,409

Posted on May 14th, 2004 in Brewers by whazzmaster

Hi there. I’m Zachery Moneypenny and I have a new theory for getting further in mlb.com’s Beat The Streak contest. For the Series starting on Tuesday, May 18th against the Montreal Expos, I just picked Lyle Overbay for every game. I’m hoping this results in 3 hits added to my now-insignificant total of One. If not, perhaps for the next series I’ll put another theory into play that I’ve been batting around in my head. The Moeller/Counsell/Helms Triumvirate may just be what my BTS account needs to climb to the top of tha mountain, bruther.

In other news, I’ll be itermittently working on some of the site code for the next few days so if it’s down don’t freak out. I’ll put most of the work in on the weekend when no one visits anyways, so that should be good.

I thought I fixed the login problem, but now Im not so sure. Can anyone who logged in yesterday verify whether or not you’re still logged in? I’ll check when I get to work and see. If it’s still not working then drop a dime in the comments so’s I can take a look.

I’ve got some exciting work news, but I’ll put together a bigger post detailing it.

In the meantime, check out the Mobile Whazzing moblog and keep on truckin, Brewers.
