An Abject Apology

Posted on July 30th, 2004 in General by whazzmaster

Sorry for my outburst in that last post. It was late, late in the evening and I was angry at being rivered out of a possible $399 payday. I have composed myself now and I can talk about Judd’s new place, which I visited for the very first time last night.

I (along with the Brewermobile) helped him get his couch and bed moved over to the new place. It’s in East San Jose, about 2 miles from downtown just off Santa Clara. It’s in a nice secluded drive in a newish complex. It’s a townhome-type place with a nice little front porch, a great back patio, a sweet kitchen, and other amenities. I really liked it, and seeing someone I know actually purchase a home out here is a terrific morale booster. Erin and I were concerned about being able to actually get a place to live, and seeing that Judd was able to pull the trigger gives me hope that we can do it too.

Battle of Bautista Is On

Posted on July 28th, 2004 in Basketball by whazzmaster

On Saturday, me and Judd may be playing in a basketball tourney in San Juan Bautista. I am subbing in for the eminent Scott Fournier aka thizzele fournier aka S Fitty aka Sweet Fournier. I hope I can do Scott proud in his place, even though I have 3/4 the height of him and probably 1/2 the skill. Anyways, from what I hear it’s all-you-can-eat and -drink. Of course, I’ll be moblogging from on location.

The Improv on Aug. 6th

Posted on July 28th, 2004 in Antics by whazzmaster

Kendric is suggesting we go to see Carlos Mencia at the Improv on August 6th. I think good. Since Dan, Luke, and Blaine will all be out in Cali that week, maybe we could see the show and then head out to dranko in downtown San Heezy. Caspa, if you happen to see this while in Wisco, holler back via comments. Anyone else Cali-based that wants to come is welcome to. Anyone who wants to fly out here just for a comedy show, I guess you’re welcome too if you came all that way.

Loser Leaves Town Match Tonight

Posted on July 28th, 2004 in Basketball by whazzmaster

In the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at work, my team had a tough first round loss. As it is double-elimination, however, we get another shot at the title through the Losers’ Bracket. Our last chance to advance will occur this evening at 6pm at Intuit, in case anyone is interested in seeing that shit. I’m gonna tape up my sprained fingers, go out, and whopp some goddamned ass in basketball. And if we lose, well… I guess I can always go home and play Zuma.

MIGRAINES!

Posted on July 27th, 2004 in Things I Hate by whazzmaster

Spent all of last night and some of today fighting against the insane pounding in my skull. As a delicious new treat to my crazy, migraine-world, I got very nauseous and it felt like pins being shoved in my eyes whenever I looked remotely near a light source. So this morning I’m mainly laid up in bed, trying to get the pounding and pain to go away.

Wedding, Garlic, Kickboxing, et. al.

Posted on July 26th, 2004 in Tha Weekend by whazzmaster

The wedding turned out surprisingly ok this weekend. The ceremony, while deeply religious and kind of strange, was of the 2 Fast 2 Minute variety. It included the groom being named “The Jesus of His Family” while the bride was told to submit to her new husband in every way. Meanwhile, I was reading the part in Leviticus where God makes it an abomination to eat shellfish. I wrote a little prayer card I was going to submit to the church for clarification, but Erin stoled it from me. I’ll reproduce it here:

Dear God–

Why is eating shellfish and being gay evil?

holler back,
-z

Hopefully an answer will be forthcoming from the bottom of Erin’s purse.

The reception was pretty not bad. We were stuck in the back, almost as if there was an anticipation of sorts that we would act up in the most un-Jesus of ways. Ho boy, was that an accurate depiction. Snorting and giggling during the pre-meal prayer, especially in such a religious crowd, is not necessarily God Behavior. No liquor was served in or around the wedding reception, so we had to run to the hotel bar to get that sweet, sweet release of alcohol. We did get champagne for the toast, but I drank it all right away. At the next table, Stephanie tried to get me to give her some grapes that I had got from the hors durves table. I told her I’d trade for her glass of champagne. She denied that barter suggestion. I moblogged some of it, so click the images at left to see somethin, somethin.

Kickboxing + Weddings = Tha Weekend

Posted on July 25th, 2004 in Tha Weekend by whazzmaster

Don’t have much time to write yet, but I encourage you to take a look at the moblog to check out the pics I got at last night’s kickboxing tournament: Born To Fight IV. It was pretty sweet, even if I had to sit on high school gym bleachers for 6 hours to see the whole thing. I’ll have more to say tonight or tomorrow. Because in the meantime Erin and I are attending a wedding for her former coworker Randy this evening. It’s a dry wedding; wish me all the luc you are able to.
