A Photopictorial of My Bricky Friend

Posted on September 29th, 2004 in Antics by whazzmaster

I just recently created my own new friend at work. He is a grey brick of indeterminate origin. With a little elbow grease and a black dry erase marker I have imbued him with two of the five senses, and more importantly with a sense of surprise and humor. I hope he goes on to big things in whatever walk of life he chooses.

No Internet

I got returned home from work yesterday to find out our phone and internet have been shut down by the Madd Scientist’s company. What does that mean for Whazzmaster.com? Well, I’ll still be able to post from work (as I’m doing now), but will not be able to do any admin from home until me and Erin move into our new house in a few weeks. I also had to bring my home computer into work so that I’m able to keep a close eye on our finances in Quicken shortly before, during, and after the move. And if anyone wants to call us on our home phone, good luck with that.

Wirkuswhazz: I’m sorry I left you a 20 minute voice mail of my pocket this morning. For some reason I didn’t turn on the keyguard before I put my phone in my pocket. I apologize.

Craziest

Posted on September 28th, 2004 in Things I Like by whazzmaster

Yo Wirkuswhazz and anyone else who is interested in Scrabble: check out this interesting Flash movie. It’s 8 minutes long and somewhat insane. It delves into the magical mystery that is the Triple-Triple of “CRAZIEST”. I’d be interested to hear your (or anyone’s) comments on it. Post below.

Wha??

Did I miss something or did Eminem’s new album get released today? I just got an email from iTunes that says one of the New Releases available for purchase is “Encore” by Eminem. I can’t find out yet because I’m still at work (without my iBook). I guess I’ll update when I get home. If it is available I’m downloading that shit.

UPDATE: According to this, the video for the single “Just Lose It” isn’t supposed to come out until November 16th. I assume the album won’t be released until after that. Nothing comes up in a search on Google News. What the fuck, iTunes?

Just A Heads Up

Posted on September 28th, 2004 in Site News by whazzmaster

Just in case you were wondering what happened to the last few days of comments, I accidentally deleted them while attempting to extricate the site from several hundred motherfucking spam posts. While banning IPs and deleting the posts from them, I mistakenly deleted the all the comments on the Newest page in MT. Sorry all. You can blame it on the motherfucking shit-eating piss-drinking rimjob-giving horse-sucking cockfaced cuntmasters that make their living by posting advertisements to random podunk blogs. Not that I hate them or anything.

Wow. Kansas. Wow.

Since Friday we’ve been hangin and bangin in Salina, Kansas. We’re in town for Erin’s stepbrother Mark’s wedding. We took the red-eye Thursday night into Kansas City (which some people may not realize is not in Kansas) and then drove 3+ hours to Salina. Lots of farmland. Flat farmland. I thought Wisconsin was the king of farmland, but now I realize it is merely a duke or a count. Possibly not even in the court.

The wedding was awesome. It was held in a church that was converted into a blues concert hall/recording studio. Mark worked there for several years and it was (and still is) a big part of his life. During the ceremony there were three performances (one of them a surprise) by some great blues musicians. One would think that the blues are not particularly suited to weddings, but the songs were fantastic and I had a really good time. I’m looking to buy a CD of Harry Hypolite. Harry also played at the reception, and it was great.

Don’t ever eat at Coach’s Sports Bar in Salina. They do have PBR on tap, though.

I got a great voice mail from Ewaz last night. He’s 29 years old now (older than Springer!) and he was drunko at the Irish Pub. Timmer’s cell phone cut out when he was trying to tell me his birthday whazz score, so I can’t report on that just yet. It sounds like he had fun. He reported that he was sad that “you, your fucking wife, GMC, and the MAAAAADD scientist” couldn’t be there to share the fun and excitement. HAPPY BIRFDAY, EWAZ!

Packers play Indy today, and I took them +6. I hope they rebound after last week’s embarassment against the Bears. I guess we’re going to some special Packer bar in the middle of Kansas to watch the game, which should be great.

I haven’t heard anything since the Century Club supposedly went down in California, but I got a voice mail from Judd to call him. I’m gonna call after I save this to see what happened.

About it for now. Free wireless access in your hotel room is great.

Interesting Point of View on Iraq

Posted on September 23rd, 2004 in Politics by whazzmaster

Via the War Room at Salon, Juan Cole has an extremely interesting analysis of the current state of Iraq and President Bush’s address to the United Nations yesterday.

I think that the vast majority of Americans truly do not understand what conditions in Iraq are like. Even if they have heard, seen, or read accurate reports from reporters on the ground (rather than puff pieces by Fox and CNN), I tend to think that most Americans cannot relate the information they are receiving. They have no way to reconcile the destruction of property and lives with everyday American life. Mr. Cole does a superb job of creating an analogy that brings the situation (quite literally) home to us.

Hanging From That Cage Caught Up With Him

Posted on September 23rd, 2004 in Wrestling by whazzmaster

Big Bossman is dead at 42. I wonder if Big Show will hook the casket up to his car and drive away from the funeral with it while Bossman’s wife is hanging on the back. Also, remember when Undertaker beat Bossman in Hell in the Cell and then Edge and Christian hung Bossman from the cage when he was defeated? Well, BB no-sold death there, too. I wonder if he’ll pop right back up in about a day.
